Ingredients
- 8 Maris Piper or King Edward potatoes, or a blend of both or more
- 2 onions
- 5 eggs
- ½ cup oil
- ½ tbsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- ¼ cup cold soda water
- 550g cholent meat
Method
- Finely chop onions using a food processor or very sharp knife. Place them in a large bowl. Shred potatoes in a food processor or with a box grater.
- Squeeze out as much water form the potatoes as possible.
- Add potatoes, eggs, oil, soda (if using), salt, and pepper to the bowl with the onions. Mix all the ingredients together.
- Place half of the potato mixture in a slow cooker, add the meat and finally top with the rest of the potatoes.
- Cook on low overnight.
