Ingredients
- 1.5kg beef brisket, trimmed of excess fat
- 1 cup water
- 1 tbsp beef stock powder
- 1 tbsp reduced sodium soy sauce
- ½ cup barbecue sauce
Spice Rub
- 2 tbsp paprika
- 2 tbsp packed brown sugar
- 1 tbsp chili powder
- 2 tsp garlic powder
- 2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp onion powder,
- 1 tsp black pepper
- ¼ tsp cayenne pepper optional for more heat
Method
- Apply the spice rub to the meat on all sides, and optionally let sit for about an hour.
- Sear on all sides in a hot pat until well browned.
- Add all the rest of ingredients to a slow cooker, then add the meat and cook on low for 8-10 hours.
