Ingredients

  • 450g mince meat
  • 2 medium onions, finely diced
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 tbsp paprika
  • Pinch of cayenne
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 400g tin of chopped tomatoes and 120g tomato purée

Method

  1. Cook the onions in a little oil until translucent.
  2. Add the garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.
  3. Add the meat, breaking it up and browning well.
  4. Once the meat is browned on all sides, season and add the tomatoes and bay leaf.
  5. Cook on medium heat for about 45 minutes, checking for seasoning.

[!TIP] Optionally, you can add in a couple of tablespoons of onion jam for an extra kick.
