Bolognese
Ingredients
- 450g mince meat
- 2 medium onions, finely diced
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 2 tbsp paprika
- Pinch of cayenne
- 1 bay leaf
- 400g tin of chopped tomatoes and 120g tomato purée
Method
- Cook the onions in a little oil until translucent.
- Add the garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.
- Add the meat, breaking it up and browning well.
- Once the meat is browned on all sides, season and add the tomatoes and bay leaf.
- Cook on medium heat for about 45 minutes, checking for seasoning.
[!TIP] Optionally, you can add in a couple of tablespoons of onion jam for an extra kick.
