Beef Kebabs

Ingredients

  • 450g beef steak mince
  • 75g lamb fat
  • 1 medium onion, grated
  • 5 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tsp dried mint
  • 1 tsp dried parsley, or a bunch of fresh parsley
  • 2 tbsp matzo meal or breadcrumbs
  • 1½ tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp smoked paprika
  • Pinch of cayenne
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

Method

  1. In a large bowl mix the mince, fat, onion, matzo meal, oil and spices and mix until it comes together.
  2. Cover and refrigerate for 20-30 minutes.
  3. Preheat the oven to 220°C.
  4. Form the mixture into 7-8 kebabs.
  5. Lightly oil the baking tray with olive oil and add the kebabs, lightly oiling the them on top.
  6. Bake for 20-22 minutes, flipping halfway. Optionally, give them another 2-3 minutes on grill to finish.
